Global Built Environment Review welcomes original contributions. Articles should be approximately 4000-6000 words, although, GBER provides a forum for shorter pieces not appropriate for full-length articles. Book reviews should be typed on one to two sides of a4 paper. 1.5 spacing, Times New Roman and size 12 font, with generous margins should also be used for all documents. Please refer to previous articles for format guidance or contact the editorial team for any queries on format.


The title page should include the names and full affiliations and addresses of the authors indicating the corresponding author provided on a separate page as manuscripts are refereed anonymously. An abstract of up to 100 words should be provided.


Receipt of submissions will be provided along with an approximation of the timescales involved for our refereeing process. Authors will then be contacted regarding any acceptance and provided with feedback and potential publication dates if successful.

Please ensure that all images provided are referenced and can easily moved within your document if necessary. All copyright should be attained before submission.



All articles should be submitted where possible in electronic format by email. The articles should be in ‘Word’ and not read only pdf copies.



References should follow the Harvard system. In the body of the text references should be indicated by author surname and date and should appear in an alphabetical list at the end of the paper.
